Phillip graduated in 1998 from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Soon after, in 1999, he started his own residential construction company known today as Five Oak Construction. Phillip grew his start-up to a multi-million dollar company providing jobs of upwards to 20+ citizens of the local community. Phillip also maintains a strong presence in the community through volunteering. He has been a coach for the Columbus Little League for over 15 years and served as the Little League President. He was a Columbus ISD School Board member for six years and sat on the St. Anthony’s Catholic School Advisory Council for three years. He is currently serving on the Columbus Education Foundation as the Vice-President and is a strong supporter of the Colorado County Fair. In his spare time, he enjoys watching his daughters play sports and hanging out with his family in Rockport.
Ryan graduated from Texas A&M University in 1998 with a Business Administration – Marketing and Finance degree. He worked as an energy trader for Shell for 11 years when he decided to join Country Time Homes in 2014 as a partner with Phillip. Ryan worked with Phillip to rebrand Country Time Homes to Five Oak Construction in 2016 and was instrumental in growing the company to where it is today. Ryan has served for five years as a board member for the Columbus Independent School District and regularly volunteers his time in various ways for his church. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and watching his son and daughter play sports.
David received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston in 2004 and began working in commercial construction. In 2018, he started a new commercial drywall division at Five Oak Construction which grew into a commercial general contracting division the same year.
Alex received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2010 from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. She began working for Five Oak Construction in 2017 as the residential division project assistant. When David came on board in 2018, she began working for him as a commercial project estimator and project engineer.
Toby received his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science with a minor in business from Texas A&M University in 2017. After graduation, Toby began working as an assistant project manager for Karsten Interiors. A couple years after being promoted to project manager, he moved to Columbus and began working for Five Oak Construction as a drywall estimator and project manager in 2022. Toby’s construction experience has predominately been in K-12 schools.
Steven has been in the construction industry for 15+ years. After working for Oursler Construction until 2013, he worked as a project manager for GreenCo Construction building residential homes. He later began working for Anderson Restoration as an estimator and project manager on insurance repairs for residential and commercial. In 2023, he and his family moved to Columbus where he began working for Five Oak as a drywall estimator.
Kenna graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Ag Communication and Journalism. She began working as an assistant for both residential and commercial divisions at Five Oak Construction in 2021.
Hayley graduated from the Office Management training program through Dental Assisting Options in La Grange in 2019. Afterwards, she worked as an administrative assistant at Frank Surveying. In 2022 she began working as the Office Manager for Five Oak Construction. Her hard work ethic and attention to detail sets her apart from the rest.
Mikayla grew up in Schulenburg and attended Sacred Heart High School in Hallettsville. Before working at Five Oak, she worked at Columbus Physical Therapy and Columbus Pharmacy. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working out, and playing with her two dogs, Ava and Buster.
Zenaido has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. He started his career as a Superintendent at Drymalla Construction and began working at Five Oak Construction in 2014. His extensive on-the-job experience proves to be highly valuable with each project he encounters.
Houston graduated in 2023 from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Development with a minor in Ag Economics. He previously worked at Seybro in Weimar and began working at Five Oak Construction 2023 after graduation.
